My First update of this Journal in a very long time. This year has been an explosion of craziness, I’ve spent way too much time on work stuff, not enough time with my camera and pretty much no time at all on this site and its content. My aim is to change all the above over the next few months.
Firstly, I am changing jobs: After a year at Skype, I’ve learned immeasurable amounts of good stuff, met some lovely people and expanded my horizons. It is time to move on to pastures new. First however, summer is approaching and I intend, for the first time in my life, to enjoy it. The plan is to get reacquainted with my camera, with this blog and of course the area surrounding my home town, now that I have moved back to the coast.
Below is my ‘big list’ of things to achieve over the course of the 2014 summer, not in any particular order:
- Quit my Job (DONE!)
- Update this site to the latest version of WordPress (NERD alert)
- Write up and post a couple of the photo projects from the first quarter of this year. (I’ve taken a few photos but not had time to share them)
- Get cracking on a couple of new photographic projects
- Enjoy a few weeks of the English summer and have a well-deserved break during late June/ Early July
- Get back into a routine of updating this site regularly
- Find a new Job
I am putting this list up here for all to see in the hope that my friends and family will read it (Ha!) and encourage / nag me into actually achieving all these things. This is also a veiled invitation to any of my friends who own a camera, or enjoy getting out and about to join me over the course of the sunny season.
I intend to rediscover the joys of Kentish towns (pubs) and countryside, by train and bicycle, and would urge you all to get in touch and join me when you can. Obvs that would likely be weekends since most of you will be at work Monday to Friday.
Consider this Journal your early warning my friends: Pump up the tires on that dusty bike in the shed, think about village pubs, back packs (To hold your copy of the, ‘Good Beer Guide’) and days out in the sunshine. Don’t wait for me to call on you, don’t even THINK about wearing lycra, but do volunteer today, I’ll need your company to make 2014 a memorable summer!
Oh, and for the record, this has no hint, or relation, or any possibility of, and most definitely is not a mid-life crisis on my behalf. *cough*
