How much editing is enough

At this time of year, I’ll be honest, As much as I am enjoying playing with a camera, the incentive to get out doors and practice my craft is lacking somewhat.

As such I have been keeping myself entertained by reading, lots. In particular I have been really looking hard at some of the features of Adobe Lightroom which have until now remained largely ignored. Mostly this year I have avoided the temptation to do any heavy editing of photos, but over the last few days, I have been staring at a few photos taken last year and wondering if I could have made better use of what came out after I’d pressed the shutter.

As such, I have been experimenting, and if I am honest, I am pretty pleased with the results.

The shots below are in pairs, the first is exactly what came out of the camera, the second is the end result of editing and cropping using just Lightroom

I’ll leave it up to you to decide which you prefer.
